5 Shopping Malls You Must Visit in Kuala Lumpur
We all know Malaysians take their retail therapy seriously with a wide array of shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur. From neighbourhood malls to major malls, we are spoilt for choices when it comes to shopping.
Did you know, Sunway Velocity and MyTown shopping mall located in the suburb of Cheras were both completed in the same year and are located only 500 meters apart! Whereas in the KL City Centre itself we have 8 major malls. Imagine having first time foreign visitors to Kuala Lumpur and all you need to do to round off a memorable day trip is to pay several shopping malls a visit – how convenient would that be?
Unfortunately, the recent pandemic has crippled the retail sector and many retailers were forced to shut down. Renowned department stores such as Robinson and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream chain had announced exits from Malaysia. The emergence of e-commerce platforms doesn’t make things any easier for brick and mortars retailers either. That being said, we believe when travel returns, shopping malls will still be a go-to place as consumers value the ability to see, touch, feel and try out a product before making a purchase.
Let’s take a look at few shopping malls in Malaysia that are worth visiting in Klang Valley:
Mid Valley Megamall
One of the largest shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur is no other than Mid Valley Megamall, located just 10 mins outside of KL main city area. The mall has the best array of retailers which cater to a wide range of target audience.
The mall is also surrounded by various residential properties and commercial offices, which contributed to its vibrancy and popularity. Commuters will also find joy as the pedestrian bridge linking the mall to Abdullah Hukum LRT station was recently completed. So, what are you waiting for, come visit Mid Valley Megamall if you have not – just make sure not to get lost while exploring the mega-mall.
